  Daily Text July 21, 2017: Jehovah is a loving father?

  is jehovah really a loving and compassionate "father" to his children?

  as a jw i would have definitely answered "yes", followed by the typical "he allows suffering, but doesn't cause it", or perhaps the "he has created us to enjoy life and wants us to be happy" mumbo jumbo.

  Oh, boy. This analogy strikes home. Six days ago my two year old son disobeyed me by breaking free and running across the road. He was hit by a car. Several police visits and an team of paramedics later, I sat in the children's Emergency hospital thinking to myself "if only I could redo today. If only I could go back in time...". For Jehovah, nothing is impossible. Not even time travel and do-overs. Yet he refrained. As for him not wanting to give rise for concern among the angels watching over his credibility as the Sovereign, please explain why Jehovah was more than happy to eradicate the world of "wickedness" with the Noachian flood. The angels were watching then, where they not? Wouldn't that Great Flood count as cheating if Jehovah was a God of his word and stuck to his own rules of "handing the chalk over to the rebel in the classroom and allowing the rebel to prove himself wrong"?

  FYI My son survived being run over. He is alive and well. As one sister told me "thank Jah he is okay." And what of the other children who have died in accidents (Witness children included). Where was "Jah" then? Why spare my son and be thanked for this stroke of luck when there are millions of innocent children in the world who need divine intervention more than ever? Damn, I hate the superstitious hypocrisy of Witnesses.

  Call for investigation into JW child abuse in the Netherlands

  after yesterday's newspaper articles about how jw (mis)handle child abuse cases, today the newspaper reports that both members of the national house of representatives, and the national commissioner on human trafficking and sexual violence against children are petitioning the minister / secretary of state to launch an investigation into jw and other closed religious communities.. the newspaper article (in dutch).

  the newspaper also published the personal story of a victim, and how he fought for justice within jw to no avail.this story is from my home town (just few years before i move there), different congregation in the same hall..

  I kind of feel bad laughing about the irony of Watchtower possibly being banned in yet another country. Bible prophecy rings true: false religion gets banned FIRST, JWs. Guess WT is number one on that list.

  something tells me that the russian j dub's are secretly rejoicing, having private study groups and convinced that armageddon is upon us.

  Jehovah's people are not happy people

  i finally stopped attending the meetings about 4 months go.

  i won't be going back - ever.. but i've decided the best reply to the watchtower is to be happy and i do try to be happy every day even thought i wasted my entire life on this religion.

  i cherish every day, practice mindfulness and do my best to be content with the life i have.. it is only now that i see that most jws i know are deeply unhappy people.

  This rings so true. I'm too wrecked from a long-ass day to contribute something meaningful to this discussion, but please know I'm so glad someone put down this dichotomy in writing as a post. JWs are the saddest, most hollow, depressed, medicated, unhinged souls sporting nothing but wan smiles that never reach the eyes.

  july 17, 2017 the supreme court of russia has missed the last chance to restore law and justice for the 175,000 russian citizens professing the religion of jehovah's witnesses.

  it took less than an hour of the meeting a panel of three supreme court judges, to leave unchanged the decision taken earlier by the judge yuri ivanenko, the liquidation and ban any and all registered organizations of the religion.since there is no more effective domestic remedies, the believers will appeal to the european court of human rights and other international organizations.. *note: as reported by the jworg source, jw-russia.org.
